Yes it is.

It's good, decent people contributing THEIR money.

Liberals generally only "contribute" OTHER PEOPLE'S money.

And if that job doesn't pay enough for a sick kid? Do you have any idea how much it costs to care for a sick child anyways? Try having a child with Lennox Gastaut that has thousands of seizures every week, and regresses to being an infant every so often to the point where you have to teach him his ABC's every year. Do you think mommy and daddy can just work through that AND take care of that child by themselves?

Try having MS, where the cost of treating the disease can be upwards of $70,000 a year.

Since the banks understood that Fannie and Freddie would guarantee those loans, they went ahead and gave them.

The government backed Fannie and Freddie with taxpayer dollars.

So it was as much a government created as a bank created crisis.

And guess who really wanted banks to lend to poor people.

Um, it wasn't Republicans, right?

I mean, they don't care about poor people, right?
Did you know?

More than 84 percent of the subprime mortgages in 2006 were issued by private lending institutions.

Private firms made nearly 83 percent of the subprime loans to low- and moderate-income borrowers that year.

Only one of the top 25 subprime lenders in 2006 was directly subject to the housing law that you're referring to.

Funny you should talk about Republicans - it was Bush's idea to cut the fed rate to .25% specifically to spur the housing market after 9/11.

You're being forced by your church to give money to the poor.

You're being forced by the government to give money to the poor.

I really don't see a difference as far as being more able to ride on your high horse just because you're trying to get into heaven.

It is really hard to be happy, when you are raised to be the victim, on purpose.

When has a church ever forced anyone to give them money?
You lie!

When I got married I paid the preacher. I had a choice
When the plate is passed down the pews, I give if I feel like it. I have a choice, but I have not been to a church service, since I was a kid.

Wow.

All churches are not one entity. When you have many thousands of separate churches giving separate percentages of their donations then it is correct to give a range.

Some churches give "x" amount while others give "x" amount. A study such as this need only give a range to bring forth the point. It would not be fair to say "All churches give X amount".

You really don't like that range huh? Don't like a majority of your tithes going to everything but assistance for the needy? Bummer!

Tell that to whoever argues that giving tithes makes you a generous person.

If you feel compelled to give more than you want,
maybe you are in the wrong church?
