I watch Moore's movies and I don't like him. He tries to paint the worst in life and try to tell people that it happens commonly, it doesn't. Then he tries to lie about other countries by showing the best and telling you its common. Comparing the worst in life and the best in life isn't a measurement at all... its a con game... those who believe him? Well, there is one born every minute.... that's not to say that unfortunate things do happen because it does... I believe the insurance industry needs major reform but I don't believe in "his" methods of turning the country into a socialist or communist government... if you want that, you should move to China or some such country... as I understand it, the French are one of the highest taxed countries in the world and they NEED labor reform because they are getting worse and worse each year.. but at least that got good health care... there will be a point in time when they will be unable to afford anything... homes, food, etc. etc. then they can revel in their socialist society and demand the world give them free money because they are entitled to it...
He distorts the facts to make a more interesting movie.. Then people believe everything he has to say as being 100% correct. He only shows one side of the story..
need I go on?
By the way I don't hate him. I've watched all his films. I just understand I'm getting one side of the story.
yup.
I, as well, don't hate him. I actually feel sorry for him. He looks like a miserable person who eats to medicate himself.
I think Michael Moore makes movies to make a living. I watched "Bowling for Columbine" with great interest b/c I live in Colorado and had a kid in high school at the time. Most all of the Colorado high school community was shaken by Columbine. I thought Michael made his conclusion first and then set out to find the facts that fit it, instead of doing research and coming to a conclusion. I have no desire to rehash Columbine again, except to say that the average Coloradan who read a newspaper or watched the news during the shootings and their aftermath knows more than anyone who watched that movie. I too, found his approach to Charlton Heston distasteful.

Well put. He's essentially a distasteful opportunist. He was way out in left field re: Columbine. Maybe a hypocrite, too. I hear he has his own Gulfstream now.
I found Borat's take on our country to be much more factual and entertaining.
