Here's an interesting story for anyone who thinks Michael Moore's last movie, Sicko, was a big lie.
France is healthcare leader, US comes dead last: study - Yahoo! News (broken link)
I suppose it's all a big, liberal conspiracy to make the great U S of A look bad, eh? If only greatness were measured by how much we consume, like we think it is.
What gets me is when someone who "hates" him has never watched one of his movies.
I think people hate him because they are affraid of his truth. They have their partisan blinders firmly on their head and don't want anyone to disturb their quaint but flawed ideas.
But healthcare is not just a political issue, it's a quality of life issue.
Has anyone immigrated here who can offer an experience with our healthcare system versus another? What's your opinion on quality - from a personal view, not a political one?

I don't hate him, but I don't value his movies. He takes facts and conveniently plays with them to present a distorted view. I think we have problems in our healthcare system, but I would not look to him for the facts or an accurate representation of them.

Lindsey I have found myself posting numerous times complimenting you on your writings. I will say it again. I agree with your comment here, probably because you are right. You are so very right.
He distorts the facts to make a more interesting movie.. Then people believe everything he has to say as being 100% correct. He only shows one side of the story..
need I go on?
By the way I don't hate him. I've watched all his films. I just understand I'm getting one side of the story.

Without doing more studies on this its impossible to know whether the differences noted in the study are due to the health care system, people's attitudes towards health, or eating habits. The study in no way is isolating the variable you are interested in, namely the respective health care systems.
Anyhow, this study says very little. But citing studies like this is exactly what Michael Moore does and why what he says is so particularly useless. The things Michael Moore says are usually on the same level as the Bush administration.
