"The Hill asked for 2013 emails and other correspondence between the IRS and the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA). The request specifically sought emails from former IRS official Lois Lerner and Treasury officials, including Secretary Jack Lew, while the inspector general was working on its explosive May 2013 report that the IRS used “inappropriate criteria” to review the political activities of tax-exempt groups. TIGTA opted not to release any of the 512 documents covered by the request, citing various exemptions in the law. The Hill recently appealed the FOIA decision, but TIGTA denied the appeal."

TIGTA cited privacy, interagency communication and interference when the law enforcement proceedings can be reasonably expected. But The Hill points out, DOJ and The FBI said no charges will be filed.

Obama administration won

Judicial Watch said the Department of Justice withheld 832 documents requested but some that the court forced them to release are the same ones that TIGTA won't release to The Hill. Supposedly DOJ is going to release a report with recommendations "soon."

So, what's more troubling to you, the IRS targeting conservative groups or the feds trying to hide communications and documents from the public?

Maybe Congress should overhaul Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) law.

Even if obama gave back his transparency award it wouldn't square things.

Perhaps if congress goes to obama's mother, Valerie Jarrett, she can talk some sense into that wild eyed community organizer who fell into the presidency.

Unfortunately, the rest of his gang, the mainstream media, has looked the other way and keeps the pressure off. We certainly can't look to the DOJ for justice or a thorough investigation. DOJ headed by the same guy who judge shopped lies and false claims about james rosen so he could eavesdrop a political opponent.

Only the media can save us from the IRS and the outlaw obama administration. Laws have been set aside and are apparently of no use.

Weaponizing federal agencies and media silence is the underlying problem. Blind partisans, like sightless moles, work efficiently in the depths of the earth away from the bright sunlight that used to come from the free press.

Unfortunately this isn't the first time this has happen with the IRS.

I remember Congress getting documents so redacted that you couldn't make ANY sense of what they said.

Yet Judicial Watch through a FOIA got the SAME documents, months later, totally REDACTED.

Such great theater arises when the two teams pretend to be at odds.

They had to do what they have to do to silence opposition to Obama. Remember the prayer breakfast with Dr Carson? After openly criticizing Obama in his presence during a prayer breakfast in February... Carson said audits and other harassment began in May or June of 2013 and gradually expanded to include family members, associates, and his charitable endeavors. "we live in a Gestapo age, people don’t realize it".
