I love how liberals like to paint conservatives and centrists as "judgmental" and that they/we "assume too much", and yet they go about doing the same thing (such as just now), often more often than a conservative would! And they have the NERVE to call us hypocrites? HA!
Like what? What other ways are there to prevent a country from developing their own nuclear program?

1. Empowering the thousands upon thousands of young, educated, secular people who don't like their radical government and want to engage with the West, Israel, and others, as they used to decades ago.

2. If necessary, use airstrikes to target nuclear facilities. If not us or our allies, allow Israel to do it. Azerbaijan said it would seriously consider allowing Israel to use their air bases to do this, if necessary: Sources: Azerbaijan mulls helping Israel with Iran attack - Israel News | Haaretz

Largely agree with OP. But thinking further, the US is not really in danger if Iran gets a nuke. Let's say they get it, and try nuking Israel - well, there goes Iran from existence. Or if they nuked Egypt / Saudi Arabia? The. Those countries turn Iran into a parking lot - win win.

I'm on board with the first one. That is a solution that would actually (or at the very least actually has the potential) to bring long term results.

The second one should only be an option IF Iran becomes hostile or threatens to actually use the nukes, which to my knowledge has not yet occurred.

So we should try to convince the young people there to have a rebellion or something, or active airstrikes....not much of a solution, but I wasn't really expecting much when I asked that question.

A rebellion would be helpful. Why not? To overthrow a harsh regime, and it would come from within, and probably be the path of least bloodshed. As for airstrikes, all they'd really be doing is destroying nuclear facilities, with minimal injury or death.

TheDusty, Iran has said numerous times that it plans to "wipe Israel off the map"...what more proof do you need?

Joeymags, Saudi Arabia and Egypt could not turn Iran into a parking lot, and neither of them have nuclear weapons either. Not that I'd care much, but if Iran chose to nuke them, that'd be it for those two countries.

If the people of Iran want a rebellion, they will do so. Trying to force a rebellion isn't going to make one happen. And airstrikes would probably be a great way to get Iran to think they are at war and retaliate. But sure, there will be minimal injury and death.

Better than them acquiring nuclear weapons, which could very well possibly lead to a nuclear war. SO you tell me, would you rather see that happen, or a conventional war where the militarily-superior Israel would quickly end the conflict?

As for the rebellion, the people of Iran have been protesting, ever since Ahmadinejad illegitimately "won" that election--it just hasn't been covered by the news in a while. How can they have a rebellion when constantly they have been killed, arrested, or otherwise put down? If you stand for liberal values, perhaps you should be standing for them getting some freedoms instead of whining about medieval Christianity.

Can you link some of those many threats to "wipe Israel off the map"?

What are they going to do overwhelm the old guard with their facebook and instagram accounts? There's no scenario where the United States is the one to empower those people and that works. For that to work, it must happen organically, not because we orchestrated it. It's like trying to be cool. If you have to try, then you're not.
