Which goes to show MANY like you do like to be lied to.
All those media outlets suck, and I don't watch any of them, with the exception of the CBS Evening News, the best of the three major mainstream outlets. The media in this country is deeply flawed, and if one had any doubt, the run up to the invasion of Iraq serves as proof. One must turn to alternative sources for the real story, not a 30 second soundbite of infotainment.

The problem with my theory is too many, especially most conservatives, turn to outlets that are far worse than the mainstream media, and preach outright propaganda, and one of these is FOX News.

Canada's 'Fox News North' Goes Off The Air | Crooks and Liars
Okay I don't really care but I'm bored. So I thought I'd go ahead and see if the Democratic Party's preferred soapbox has a Canadian outlet. Here's what I found out:

MSNBC Canada:
Launched September 7, 2001
Closed December 1, 2004

Sun News Network:
Launched April 18, 2011
Closed February 13, 2015

Apparently both "for Canada in Canada" experiments have failed miserably. Fox's attempt at a "in Canada for Canada" news channel survived a few months longer than MSNBC's. Looks like Canada isn't interested in all our hot air and BS about politics. They'd rather get their Canadian news from Canadian news sources.

The United States version of both Fox News and MSNBC are currently aired in Canada and have been for a long time.

This channel is not affiliated with Fox, but that makes for boring liberal click-bait.

Fox is of course available OTA and consistently ranks high with Canadians in their ratings.

By definition cable news shows are not UHF or VHF and are not available OTA (over the air).

Most Canadians can listen to right wing whack jobs to their hearts content on the Internet, and even TV or radio since 80% of Canadians live within 100 miles of the US-Canada and are within the signal range of stations just across the US border. This true for TV in Southern Ontario, Vancouver and Victoria BC .ad radio in Montreal QB,Moncton NB and Halifax NS.

"NEWS" is not a point of view but facts. The listener of the facts can then formulate their OWN point of view.

.1% of Canadians have EVER gone to the USA for medical treatments according to StatsCan. That's POINT ONE %!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you have any idea how many Yankees come here for medical treatments?

Americans Filching Free Health Care in Canada

TORONTO, Dec. 19— Lacking a national health care system of their own, thousands of Americans are tapping into Canada's -- illegally.

"It's not an epidemic in any one person's practice," said Keith MacLeod, an obstetrician in Windsor, Ontario, across from Detroit, "but I would estimate that from 12 to 20 of my patients at any one time are ineligible Americans. And I'm just one of 520 doctors in Windsor, 23,000 in Ontario."

Dr. MacLeod, former president of the Essex County Medical Society, delivers about 400 babies a year.

A report prepared for Ontario's Health Minister indicated that from August 1992 to February 1993, 60,000 medical claims had been made on behalf of patients who held American drivers' licenses. The total number of improper claims in Ontario was estimated at 600,000.

Only legal residents qualify for free medical care in Canada, using plastic health cards for identification. Others are supposed to pay for medical services they may require, but many are submitting counterfeit, borrowed or fradulently obtained cards.

Loopholes and the lack of stringent controls are costing the provincial health care system as much as $691 million a year, the Ontario report found.

Lucknow..

That New York Times story that you quoted was from 1993, for god's sake......

In the intervening 21 YEARS, things in Ontario have improved a bit. The use of photo OHIP cards has helped to reduce the problem.

here is the link to the NYT story from 1993. Note the exact same head line?

If you are going to quote a news source, try to find one from THIS century, OK ?
