How much do they 'give' to various politicians to keep their dominance in the industry secure? I could give a damn what they donate, I want to know why they feel they are allowed to meddle in politics.

Rich people donating to other rich people makes my heart melt.
I was so very wrong about them.

Good thing he gets a massive tax deduction out of it... otherwise he wouldn't be rewarded for his generosity.

Agreed. The sheer generosity of a billionaire giving millions of dollars worth of property to a private institution with a multi-billion dollar endowment shows how the priorities of the very wealth are reflective of the priorities of everyone else in America.

I'm sure they will benefit from some tax donating rule. If you give anything and always want a tax form, you did it for selfish reasons.

For the same reason you meddle around on this board in the political forum: WE are the government.

If the law allows a deduction and you don't take the deduction you're an idiot.

Warren Buffet makes large political contributions as does Bill Gates. Steve Jobs did while he was alive too. What is the difference?
