Why does leadership in both parties insist on telling middle class/lower class Americans that they can "...do anything they put their mind to!"

"The American Dream is alive and well!"

"With hard work anything is possible!"

No, it isn't.

Assuming the goal is money, as money=freedom..

999/1000 people will never have the capital to get a small business going. They don't have the intellectual tools, never will, and even those intellectually-equipped need an enormous stroke of luck to have a shot independent wealth (and no, not the kind of luck you "make.")

Nearly everyone in this country will never have a real world shot at becoming wealthy enough to avoid 40-60 hour work weeks doing a job that they intensely dislike.

Who on this Earth is inspired by "you can do it!" nonsense in 2015? Do people believe it? Why does it exist?
