Immigrants and refugees have always tend to settle into their own ethnic communities.
The resettlement agencies do try to resettle refugees in or near already established ethnic communities, for obvious reasons. There are often community leaders that can help them, and their comfort level rises when they are around the familiar in a strange land.

Also, once a refugee is resettled, they can move anywhere in the US that they want to. That's called a "secondary resettlement." For example, I know of an Arab family that was resettled in North Carolina, but they soon moved to Dearborn, MI. That is also another way large ethnic communities are established. Word gets out and people move there, although the initial intent was to spread them more evenly across the country.

This guy doesn't look like a conservative white male to me, but he must be because as head of Homeland Security he said : "Anytime a terrorist organization calls for an attack on a specific place, we've got to take that seriously."

In all fairness to mom, in the 1990s I don't think most of us saw this coming. Sharia Law wasn't a topic of conversation and people weren't losing their heads. Tho somewhat naive in retrospect, the motive, at least what I saw, was "helping people."

To begin with, Al-Shabaab is a Somali-based terrorist group. In and of itself, it has no presence in Minnesota. Most of the Somalis who have come here, did so to flee the kind of violence perpetrated by Al-Shabaab. The group does have a small number of sympathizers who have played a role in radicalizing a handful of impressionable young Somalis who have gone back to Somalia to join Al-Shabaab.

As far as Minnesota being targeted, the video in question referenced shopping malls; not only in Minneapolis, but in London and Edmonton as well. All three of the malls mentioned in the video stand out for their size and prominence. It has long been known that the notoriety of these malls gives them a higher than normal risk for such attacks.

The Mall of America isn't mentioned because Minnesota allowed "...themselves to be populated by this new concentration of America-haters". The mall is mentioned because it has an international reputation for its size, and because it is stereotypically representative of middle class America--both factors which make it a highly-symbolic potential target.

Islam is not compatible with the American culture.
I doubt it.

Liberals would still be suggesting that Islam is a religion of peace, even while they are burning inside of cage with cheering Muslim throngs around them. For most sane people, "all" it took was the deaths of 2,200 Americans at the Twin Towers. Some people are just a little tougher to educate.

So if the Muslims killed a few thousand people at the Mall of America, most liberals would blame US capitalism and consumerism for enticing the shoppers to the mall, while excusing and sympathizing with the Muslims who were only doing what comes naturally to them.

Disease can be cured. Stupidity cannot be cured and is terminal.

Your ignorance used to offend me, now it scares me. Fight the enemy, don't engage a whole new enemy.

And FWIW, just about every legit Muslim Group has renounced ISIS, AL Shabab and all the other radical groups. Jordan and Egypt (amongst others) are dropping bombs on them. How much more of a statement do you want them to make?

"The Mall of America SHOULD take the threat seriously, that is why they should not waste their time focusing on Islam, but instead, Radical Terrorists."

Now it's your turn. Who exactly are the Radical Terrorists you mention?
This is the same word game the White House plays. We should fight the enemy, but let's not define the enemy.
Sounds like a plan.

Ah, the old Nazi Germany analogy. The Jews in Germany weren't flying airplanes into buildings.

Wrong again. Stepped out to see American Sniper a second time. Another $16 for Clint Eastwood.

You can thank our wonderful pro-Muslim state department for wanting to re-settle Muslims in America in this day and age when so much terrorism is being committed by.....Muslims. Radical jihadist Muslims, but Muslims nevertheless. They won't take persecuted Christian groups out of the middle east though to re-settle them in America. Yeah, let them stay there and be executed state department...right.

Let's not exaggerate here. Muslims are not the problem. The problem is certain Muslims who use their religion to inflict terror upon the world. Ultimately, though, most Muslims in America are US Citizens, with most being born here. Where do you suggest we deport them to?
