Great post and great links, renault. If I could rep you, I would. I especially liked "Where are the Gotcha Journalists When Their Country Really Needs Them?"

he wants "boots on the ground in Syria"

yeah, we need a high school graduate in charge of major national security issues

he seems to be the Koch shill replacement for Bachmann. Everyone knows he has received dark money from "non- profits" 501 c4 etc.

please, not another palin circus of media stupidity for 2016. All Americans deserve better, and have [hopefully], learned to ask "cui bono".

All Americans do deserve better than the buffoon you inflicted on us not once but twice. Maybe you need to stop voting - your track record stinks.

Walker said such questions from reporters are reflective of a broader problem in the nation’s political-media culture, which he described as fixated on issues that are not relevant to most Americans.

“To me, this is a classic example of why people hate Washington and, increasingly, they dislike the press,†he said. “The things they care about don’t even remotely come close to what you’re asking about.â€

Walker said he does not believe that most Americans care about such matters. “People in the media will [judge], not everyday people,†he said. “I would defy you to come to Wisconsin. You could ask 100 people, and not one of them would say that this is a significant issue.â€

I doubt the question is irrelevant to 0 of 100 Wisconsinites, but I do agree that people are fed up with the judgementalism. Maybe Walker set himself up for this by 'punting' on evolution, but I agree with him here:

“Of course the governor thinks the president is a Christian,†she said. “He thinks these kinds of gotcha questions distract from what he’s doing as governor of Wisconsin to make the state better and make life better for people in his state.â€

I doubt I'd vote for Walker, but I applaud him here for rejecting the tabloid nonsense that's been going on. After Rudy Giuliani's Obama remarks, now the press is asking about Obama's religion. Does anyone agree with the direction the Republican 'campaign' is going? Vaccinations, evolution, love for country, religious beliefs... These are valid questions in a broader sense, but I think most people want substance. The economy, foreign policy, immigration; these and others are the areas people are concerned about, IMO. The press is focusing on gotcha questions, and the Party isn't helping itself with Giuliani's remarks.
You won't get a chance to vote for Walker, I doubt he'll make it past the New Hampshire primary.

Sometimes it appears the press never took a journalism class or read their own code of ethics.

I thought the exact same thing upon hearing his accusations. Here we go again. Palin started this 'victim of the media' bs because she could not answer that 'gotcha question' "What do you read?" Now anyone who cannot answer a simple question, such as "do you believe in evolution?" is a victim.

Can you even imagine President Kennedy, President Johnson, President Reagan, President Clinton, or either President Bush whining about the questions of the media and claiming they are victims?

If they cannot handle the American media, then they shouldn't be president. It is that simple.

Can't take the heat--get out of the kitchen.

Do your research, believe what makes your feel comfortable. I could provide clear proof and your wouldn't believe it. Walker himself can put a favorable spin on why he prematurely left Marquette, and the hapless Right will believe whatever the simpleton says. This was how Dubya got in office. The most enlightened people in this country could see what a pathetic choice he was, long before he was selected. But Pubs? Clueless.

Kathleen Parker is my very favorite conservative member of the press. She is the sanest of the conservative media. Her take is always the most reasonable.

The extremist branch of the GOP should really take note if they have any intentions of ever winning another national election.

Interesting. I was thinking that about those WI voters who fell for Walker. WI deserves better than to fall for his, "I will create 250,000 new jobs in WI" BS.

What next? Will the press ask Walker what he reads?
