Funny how it went from 50/50 to unanimous. I think someone must have pointed out to them what was said, on the record no less, and what the repercussions might be. I don't think half the council miraculously had a change of heart on their own. This is meaningless though. You can't put the cat back in the bag. Her religion should not have even been brought up as a deciding factor, regardless of how the vote turned out in the end.

Now, how about if the school decided they would not let any blacks (or hispanics, or Asians, etc) enroll. Would that be acceptable? Discrimination backed by the power of the university, especially a publicly funded one, can not be tolerated.
We have a racist Congressional Black Caucus that publicly discriminates and no one says "Boo" about it.

"Membership is exclusive to African-Americans..."

Congressional Black Caucus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Could you imagine a Congressional White Caucus where membership is exclusive to Caucasian Americans?

And this is Congress for cryin' out loud.

UCLA is a well known extremely left wing school. They were in the news a couple years ago for outlawing the use of the term "illegal alien" on campus. The person being discriminated against was Jewish while the left wing is known to be supportive of the Palestinians in the middle east conflicts. And then the liberals on this board, in complete contrast to their reactions in any case of discrimination involving blacks, women, Muslims, or homosexuals, come down on the side of moderation and reserving judgment.

Anybody who does not see the connections there is either a complete fool or is being deliberately and willfully ignorant.

Of course.

It's a double standard and hypocrisy.

Just like at UC Davis, the liberal Obama loving student body is trying to bring Hamas and Sharia Law to UCLA.

I really, really, hope they all get it.

This article provides the names of people who voted against her. Inquisition: College girl gets 3rd degree for being Jew

Here are the names;

Fabienne Roth

Manjot Singh

Negeen Sadeghi-Movahed

Sofia Moreno Haq

Except for Roth, all of these people are minorities. Now from what the media tells us minorities can't be racists, so therefore the people calling these minorities anti-semite, they are the ones who are racist.

The appropriate headline should be:

UCLA student council doesn't appoint member because she's RACIST
