True but the point I'm addressing here is that the binary view of male=XY and female=XY is simplistic and incorrect. There are millions of chances for chromosomes and fetal development to go sideways.

I strongly believe the environmental and psychological factors contributed heavily to these feelings/beliefs of gender confusion. Two of these individuals have undergone surgical procedures, and two more hormonal type intervention. All of these individuals are nice people, but they are majorly disturbed, and despite their "identify changes" are still emotional disasters. Interestingly, all 4 were females that identified with being male, and all 4 were physically unattractive as females. I don't know any that have gone the other way.
Spending a lifetime with a body incongruous to your mental self-image is going to have some psychological side effects.

Reminder: the plural of anecdote is not data.

I agree with that. At the same time, all of this stuff is irrelevant. You can discuss genetics until you are blue in the face, but the bottom line is, life is short. Do what makes you happy. If a man wants to become a woman or vice versa, who am I (or anyone else) to tell them any differently?

A popular quote among people who consider themselves to be libertarians. Meaning, you have the right to do whatever you want, until it infringes on the rights of others.
The most common referencing of the Non-aggression Axiom, otherwise known as the central and defining idea of libertarianism.
