I have no dog in this fight, but I have to say that I have long admired that Israel is a tiny State surrounded by hostile arab countries. Through it all, Israel has defended itself from the threat of invasion from much hositility. In the 2000 election recount, there were many Jewish votes that voted the Dem ticket (Al Gore) and the recount strategy depended heavily on the Jewish vote, espec in the counties of Dade, Broward, Palm Bch and Volusia. What has happened since that time? The Dems seem hostile to anything that smacks of Israel/Judaism. Does it have something to do with Sheldon Adelson's intense support for Repub candidates? If I were Jewish and Dem, I think that I'd be furious at the Dems.

I have not seen a single example of Democrats being anti-jew (anti-Semitic is the common word).

Maybe not anti-Semitic, but democrats at more work are more and more calling Israel a terrorist state that terrorizes Palestinians.

Well, why dont they support Israel? It's the only homeland for Jews around the world. The Holocaust and promises made by the British are reason enough for its existence. It would be offensive to me to disrespect the homeland if I were Jewish.

Being anti-Israel doesn't make someone anti-Jew.

There are Jews all over the world.
There are Israelis.

They all follow the Torah.

Israel just happens to be populated by Jews.

It's not Jewish people, it's the politics and mind-set of a country called Israel.

They are right not to support Israel, Israel is occupying Palestine for 60 years and there is no prospect for peace, who's going to buy your story.

Palestine is the homeland for Palestinians, Palestinians are the victims of Israeli occupation.

The larger question I have is why are Republicans so slavishly pro-Israel? I cannot remember a time in my lifetime where a political party invited another country's leader to give a speech for only one reason: To spite the President.

After all the financial aid we give that country, after foolishly standing alone amongst the U.N. in support of their human rights abuses against the Palestinians, we have an entire political party, on a string, that Bibi can make dance at his whim.

It's embarrassing to see Republicans grovel like this. They have never had any allegiance to this country anyway, outsourcing jobs, trying to destroy the middle class, and enriching the wealthiest 1%.
