I guess you don't believe that 'the best person for the job' or the 'more talented student' nor the best people, with any skill, should be accepted for the job, school, sports, trade etc. Great. Let's reduce all of the US society to mediocrity. As someone who has hired a large number of individuals for high-tech companies, I don't care if you are green, purple, have six eyes or 4 heads. Rule number one is hire the best, wherever they are from. View it as if you don't hire the best, then we ALL lose, as the company goes out of business for everyone. I agree that people here illegally should be deported, To make this country strong, we have to excel in education. And thst puts all legal residents under consideration.
(Not that it matters, but I am Caucasian, the SO is from the far east, as is her daughter, both came here legally, are now US citizens, and though the daughter doesn't know how to play World of Warcraft or Guitar Hero, she IS at Harvard School of Medicine. Survival of the fittest. The only way to compete in this world.)

There isn't a foreign student or worker that is superior to an American in skills, intelligence or anything else. That's just outright racism. We have no shortage of qualified Americans for any job. Survival of the fittest? How about survival of the rightful citizens of this country?

Bilingual: Knows 2 languages
Trilingual: Knows 3 languages
Quadrilingual: Knows 4 languages

Monolingual: An American

Couldn't resist. Bad joke.

I guess you didn't read my statement "I don't care if you are green, purple, have six eyes or 4 heads. Rule number one is hire the best, wherever they are from." That is the extreme opposite of racism. If you can provide verifiable proof of your statement (and a large sample size using proper scientific methods) that there " isn't a foreign student or worker that is superior to an American in skills, intelligence or anything else.", then I will believe that you are not the racist. I turn a blind eye to race, creed, religion country of origin, etc.
As stated by another poster, higher education is a privilege, not a right. To earn that privilege, you have to excel over others to get accepted into an advanced school. Why do you think they have things like the GRE and such?

Citizens of this country have the opportunities to succeed here if they take advantage of those available. I have little compassion for those that are provided with them as US citizens, or anyone here legally, and do not use them.

It was implied though that foreigners are superior to Americans. No, I'm not racist. How is it racist to care for one's own citizens above foreigners? I have no problem with hiring the best but we already have the best in our own country. What make you think that many or even most Americans don't take advantage of education and opportunities? We are being flooded with "immigrants" both legal or illegal willing to work for less and there lays the problem not that Americans are inferior or aren't the best.

English IS the number 1 language to the world to know. I know more people speak Chinese but, MOST of them are IN China.

I don't see any point in learning another language although GOOD Spanish would def come in handy to hurt la raza's feelings because most of their kind speak poor quality Spanish.

My son attends a major university for engineering. He is very frustrated by students who arrive to lectures late, disrupt students while taking their seats, don't turn off their phones during lecture, and are seen cheating during test by sitting together and whispering loudly to each other in Mandarin. These problems are always caused by the Asian students who apparently do not have proper respect for professors or other students.

OldGlory"I have no problem with hiring the best ."

Me, too. They are found all over the planet. We have some, as does every nation on the planet. We hire he/she who provides the best bang for the buck, and we source globally, including hiring, but not limited to hiring, American citizens.
