I was astounded that a person of her position, experience, education and acumen would actually wonder what difference it would make to know the truth about such a tragic, senseless event that appears to have been avoidable.

I don't believe she is stupid. Is she really in the habit of covering up? The recent private e-mail revelations do seem to confirm that.
