Income tax is imposed on a progressive basis on taxable income up to 49%. Income from 'substantial business interests' (meaning from a company in which an individual has a minimum 5% shareholding) is taxed at a fixed rate of 19.5%.

Curaçao has lots to offer: sun-drenched beaches.
Look into the additional surcharge taxes a bit deeper before going there to be disappointed.

yep, my post was in reference to someone asking where I went after stating that when government takes so much money the people live in poverty. Except you should see the government standards of living. Same goes for Curacao, the people live in utter poverty but you should see the governments mansion and the wealthy area's.

I didn't notice a middle class.

Individual income tax rates in the Netherlands Antilles are progressive up to 38%. A surtax of 25% or 30% also applies.

Taxable income (ANG) Tax on lowest amount (ANG) Tax Rate on excess
up to 25,514 – 10%
25,514 to 38,271 2,551.40 16%
38,271 to 53,154 4,592.50 21%
53,154 to 79,730 7,717.90 27%
79,730 to 112,685 14,893.40 32%
Over 112,685 25,439.00 38%

The tax is increased by an island surcharge which for Curaçao is 30% and for all other islands 25%. The social security contribution rate is 9.35%.

Where are they going? I'd like to follow them....

I find it strange that people support government taking such a high percentage of money from people who earned it. Just strange, unless you hope to be on the receiving end or are jealous.

Ah so its all about Obama huh? What you are saying is that these people would live in a society with all the things they hate (high taxes, universal health care, gun control, etc.) if it weren't for that pesky Obama? So its not really the high taxes, universal health care, gun control, etc. that they find intolerable, just Obama? Got it.

And come January 21, 2017, Obama will be gone but those patriotic emigrants from America still be stuck with those high taxes, universal health care, and gun control in their new home. Heh.
