Almost every situation in America today is based on fear. Every news outlet has warnings against something bad happening. Every person fears for their own. We are a country motivated by fear.

True conservatives would never vote for the use of force against their own people nor would they place too much power in the hands of the government. They are for the exact opposite, military for the protection of the people (of course with the right to bear arms), limited government, hard work, low taxes and a belief that the responsible individual, by bettering himself, betters society.
We all have our idealized conceptions of what a "true" member of our philosophical persuasion should believe... if you associate "the left" with what I consider to be the current American/European left's values of millitary nonagression, caring for the downtrodden/poor/homeless, respect for minority rights & belief in preserving civil liberties (not torturing people or imprisoning them for years without trial, etc.), internationalism, then that's about as far from "fascism" as I could imagine... likewise, you could come up with a group of "conservative" libertarian traits that would sound very anti-fascist. You'd just have to make sure to leave out the "values" of far-right groups like the KKK, the French National Front and people like that.

Fear only enhances consumerism.

Agreed, remove the extremists and we are all looking at the same goals in essence.

Why stop with ammo? Don't you need to build a fall out shelter and buy tons of canned food and water?
What about a gasmask, batteries, flashlights and medicine?

Or are you one of those who believes in the rapture? If this is the case you won’t need anything.

It's your money and you are free to waste it as you wish, as long as you do not break any laws (like purchasing illegal stuff).

BTW it is my opinion that you are just afraid that God does not exist, otherwise you would have put your faith in Him and not earthly technology.
