Try as Obama can, he can not make new law. He can temporarily put the law in abeyance which he has and his EO has a end date.

So once again, why is reform needed?
We cannot deport all the immigrants that are here illegally and we cannot secure our borders, short of those solutions nothing will happen whether it's a republican or democratic administration, they have both had their opportunities in the last 40 years.

Lacking a solution the status quo will continue for decades, the EO is small game compared to the larger issues. Congress won't move forward and won't move back.

Seriously fine businesses that hire them.

Make it expensive to hire illegal aliens.

It can work if the politicians grow a pair and ignore the screeching's of fringe groups such as La Raza.
The politicians don't want to enforce those things. Or more to the point, the money behind the politicians don't want to enforce those things. Cheap labor is more important. Republicans use this issue to fire up the base and get votes. Then they promptly walk away from it until the next election season, when they will be sure to fire it up again. And you guys fall for it every time.

We can do both but our government won't allow it. So, the solution is to remove all of the incentives for them to remain here and to continue to come here. The incentives are jobs, benefits and birthright citizenship for their kids. Americans are going to insist that they stop this madness as it continues to fester like a boil. You can take that to the bank.

It doesn't matter one iota what Congress does or does not do.

The 11-30 million illegals are here. They are not going anywhere.
They get benefits, they get jobs, they get educated.

And more will continue to come.

No President or administration has ever been successful at winning the illegal mass migration to the US.

How many illegals are here only for benefits and birthright citizenship vs jobs?

By the way, illegals can't get any benefits anyway. So that point is moot.

Or, I have a better idea. Let's continue to bury our heads in the sand and keep believing that we're only one Republican president away from having 100% of the illegals kicked out of the US (while not punishing the employers who are the primary reason the folks are here)

Just like we keep hearing "only 11 million illegals" for the past 15 years.
The most static group of people on the face of the earth.

Why does something as basic as e-Verify not stand alone and get passed at the Federal level?
e House Judiciary Committee approved two bills this week that would increase interior enforcement of immigration laws in the United States. The bills approved include one that would mandate the use of E-Verify by all U.S. businesses within 3 years and another that would ensure that all unaccompanied alien children (UACs) are returned safely to their home countries.

More importantly:

In addition, the bill allows states to enforce the federal E-Verify requirement and incentives them to do so by letting them keep the fines they recover from employers who violate the law.

No one is suggesting that we will be able to rid ourselves of illegal aliens 100% but we certainly should try to get rid of as many as we can. The solution is to remove the incentives that keep them here like jobs, benefits and birthright citizenship for their kids. Many if not most will self-deport with no means to support themselves. It would also be a deterrant to stop many more from coming here. Yes, the employers should be punished and I don't know of one conservative (unless they are the elite or those who hire them) that thinks otherwise contrary to the lies being spread in here. E-verify will stop the employers from hiring them. There would be very few employers that would take a chance of getting caught not being in compliance. This isn't a Republican vs a Democrat issue it's an American issues.
