And we get it, you don't like it when Obama does anything and everything he does must be illegal.
No one is conducting any negotiations other than Lurch and Dear Leader.

I thought giving the order to take out Osama was fairly dope.

I'd gather that its because the US Senators' letter isn't really "negotiating"; trying to have an effect on negotiations isn't the same as negotiating.

Exactly. It was a civics lesson.

Well, the law doesn't speak of "negotiations".

Quote:
Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.
The senators clearly commenced correspondence with a foreign government with the intent to influence the conduct of Iran's government in relation to a controversy with the United States.

In US v. Curtiss-Wright Export Corp., Justice Sutherland wrote in the majority opinion:

Quote:
The President alone has the power to speak or listen as a representative of the nation. he makes treaties with the advice and consent of the Senate; but he alone negotiaties. Into the field of negotiation the Senate cannot intrude, and Congress itself is powerless to invade it.
Mind you, the chances of them getting convicted are zero. It makes them appear like fools, though.

Well.... Not really.

Despite your long line by line rebuttal, you failed to prove they violated any US statute. Furthermore, many will see this as what happens when a President has become the lamest of lame ducks, who has lost support of the majority of the population, and who can no longer set direction for congress. i.e. Obama's influence = 0.

What is lost in all the false outrage is this. What they said was true. Without confirmation by the Congress, any deal that Obama signs with the Iranians isn't worth the paper it was written on.

Senator Who Organized Letter To Iran Has Said He Wants To Sabotage Negotiations

I don't know who the hell this guy thinks he is. I don't remember electing Tom Cotton to represent my interests with Iran.

Maybe he thinks he is King Cotton.

Playing, the operative word, as the community organizer has demonstrated disaster lies in the wake of his foreign dabblings.

As for politics, Obama is giving away the farm for thr sole purpose of his 'legacy'.

Kerry and Obama or should we say, valerie jarrett, are more of a comedy team that is alienating any friends or collaborators we had in the middle east. Even the Iranian opposition to the mullahs, who obama abnadoned at a critical moment, have a serious problem with obama's 'negotiations' with iran.

Obama negotiates with Iran while he holds the people's legislative representatives hostage and bypasses them every chance he gets. It is obama that is irrelevant and the world knows it.

Guess who is playing politics with Iran? The answer is Valerie Jarrett. Kerry and obama are unqualified.

They are acting within their constitutional rights. Someone has to be a leader.
