Social security came into existence in the 1930's. Medicare in the mid 1960's. So how did boomers vote in these programs?

Boomers, don't be surprised if this turns out badly for you at some point.
WTH are you talking about? Boomers aren't "requesting" anything. Our government set up the program of SS and the way it works is that the earlier generations pay into SS that helps fund the SS of the older generations. If you don't like the way it works then take it up with our government instead of attacking senior citizens. Who do you think will fund the so-called Millennial's SS when they become seniors? Oh, that's right the "new" Millennials. Boomers are insulting the Millenials? WTH does that mean? What a hater you are! I sure as hell hope you don't have grandparents with that attitude.

When Medicare was enacted the oldest boomer was 19 years old. Not old enough to vote.

It is a shame these questions even have to be asked.

Precisely.

DEFLECT! DEFLECT!

This entire thread is designed to insult Millennials. That's the the point. I point out that Boomers have it easier than Millennials (of which I am neither) and you become upset?

You admit that Millennials are expected to fund the older generations. Yet look at this thread. Yes, those Millennials are old enough to vote. Just don't be surprised if at some point their votes start reflecting their resentment considering they get nothing but insults as demonstrated by this thread.

The under 40's voted in the majority for Obama in 2012.

You're getting everything you voted for.

Maybe you mean Medicaid? I know every year I hear my 88year old grandma talking about how this year medicare is not paying for this test or that medication this year. Now Medicaid on the other hand..that never gets cut..you want to guess why?

This thread has gone way off topic. Too bad because I think the findings of the referenced study in the original post will be impactful on this nation's economic and political future.
