They just started this.

And it seems that the baristas aren't doing anything..no writing on cups and no "conversations" regarding race.

This article though sums it up rather nicely:

This Is What Happens When You Walk Into Starbucks And Talk To The Barista About Race | Co.Create | creativity + culture + commerce
We are not talking about race, we are talking about talking about race, and that is it.

really? you do realize that bad ideas dont stop at one place right? all it takes is some idiot to hear about some company doing something that sounds to them like a good idea and implement that idea in their place. if stupid stuff like this can be nipped in the bud, then perhaps other businesses wont follow down the same stupid path.

Money talks, BS walks.

If CEO Schultz is really worried about race relations, he won't do something so dumb as to expect his Barista's to talk about race with people, the vast majority of which neither party really wants to have the discussion with a total stranger.

He should take some of his billions in profits and put them toward real solutions in inner city neighborhoods.

Talk is cheap, unlike Starbuck's coffee.

Maybe there is a new Plato among them that set forth in their Starbucks career in the Obama economy.

I scored a copy of RACE TOGETHER:THE NEWSPAPER at my Starbucks this AM. I'll keep it safe in case it becomes a collectable item one day.

It's sort of like a 3rd grade workbook with bullet points and personal quotes.

I don't go to Starbucks. It's overpriced coffee served by pretentious people. This ridiculous campaign of theirs will cement their pretentious image into the minds of many.
