I saw the "questions" they asked, and it is charitable to attribute a 3rd grade intellect to them. Most definitely a grade school social studies class in content.

I really think it's a lot of hype over nothing, actually.
I have relatives who are insiders at Starbuck's-
they're not doing this & have no plans to.
And I was just in one yesterday- kind of hoping the barista would be dumb enough to try to preach to me....
But it was a non issue.

Well that didn't last long ....

Starbucks ends ‘Race Together’ coffee cup campaign |New York Daily News

They claim it was the plan to end it quickly all along ....... less than a week.
Claims that ending the "Race" talKs had nothing to do with all the ridicule they have recieved.

It lasted long enough to get everybody talking about Starbucks.
Brilliant!

...and we thought it was a dumb idea.

Apparently it's a multi step plan: Starbucks Guarantees Jobs And College To 10,000 Unemployed Youths As Next #Racetogether Phase - Forbes

1. #racetogether
2. Newspaper
3. Hiring 10k "opportunity youth" to staff new stores in urban areas and pay for some of their college (after already pledging to hire 10k veterans/military spouses).
4.
5. Profit?

I'm all for anyone doing whatever to get people employed.

I visited a Starbucks on Saturday morning and bought a tall Sumatra.

They handed it to me without incident. I asked if they were not supposed to 'write something' on the cup. The barrista rolled her eyes, smiled, and shook her head no.

I enjoyed my coffee and life went on.

They're supposed to write a number of things on the coffee cups, " Race" is just one of them. The others include:
" Sex"
" Guns"
" Gay"
" Taxes"
" Warming"
" Isis"
" Religion"
" Fat"
" Economy"
They're supposed to pick one depending on the customer and the likelihood of eliciting a response.

I don't watch NASCAR so I really have no opinion on race relations.

Anyways, why are ALL Dunkin Donuts in Philadelphia and for miles around staffed by Indians (from India)? I have read Indians have shaped the corporate culture of that company, but why Indians?

And please, don't pick on Schulz for being a Jew. You all do realize that a lot of liberal ideas were born from Judaism, don't you? It's only natural for Jews to be liberals. I know Israel has seemed to have a better relationship with Republicans than Democrats lately, but I feel Republicans are baiting the Israelis (who probably have no idea many Republicans are evangelicals who believe all others, Jews included, are headed for a lake of fire). American Jews are smart enough to not accept Republican elephant sh1t.
