Again, you both seem to jump directly to the notion that mandatory voting would force people to vote for candidates that they have no interest in voting for.
Yes I do jump directly there, because it happens to be the only place that's possible to jump towards. If you don't want to vote, then voting for any candidate at all is voting for someone you have no interest in voting for. It's pretty cut and dried.

Personally, I think that the more people that show up to vote and voice their displeasure with the current offerings by either writing in someone else or leaving the whole ballot blank would at minimum provide the powers-that-be with a valid and quantifiable method for determining how many people prefer none of the above.
Perhaps then, candidates would stop pandering to the small percentage of voters that actually turn out and start to think bigger picture.
But hey, you seem to be happy with the status quo, so, whatever,
Yes, I will admit I'm quite happy with the status quo of giving free citizens the right to vote or not as they choose. Sue me for supporting freedom. I'm such an awful person.
In the last two elections people voted based on skin color, others voted on the coolness factor, others because it was historic. I remember a girl telling me she voted for Obama because she thought he was cute. Another girl because as she said "I don't know, I just like him".
They didn't have a clue where Obama stood on issues in American or around the world. Obama wants more of those kind of votes.
It didn't take long for someone to play the race card...
From the article linked it sounds more like Obama was just pointing out ways to make voting count more than he was planning on making voting g mandatory, he is quoted as saying it would be fun making a constitutional ammendment, sounds more like a dialog than a policy.
And just think..Hillary will get to play the "girl card" come next year
I think it would be good to have a women president for once. But I wouldn't vote for her specifically because she was a women. Same goes for being black...

And yet you don't deny it. LOL, let me guess, you voted for Obama based on his experience, or was it his lack of honesty, or did you believe he was going to legislate your prosperity? LMAO
Black America's passionate adulation for Obama was so intense I expected them to sing Hosanna in worship of their messiah. "E-E-Excuse me. Has anyone even considered who Obama is as a person and what he will do as president?"

A lot of women will. And if you dare say anything against Hillary Democrats will say see, there's a war on women. It's all so damn obvious.
According to liberals, Obama is great for America solely because he is African-American but neglected mentioning Obama's agenda. did you look deeper into the content of Obama's character rather than basing your decision on his skin color? Obama as America's first black presidential candidate automatically activated The Black Code in the hearts and minds of most black Americans. black America's ability to reason ceased. With glazed-over eyes, black America became zombies repeating a mantra dictated by The Black Code, "Must support the black man....Must support the black man....Must..."
Folks, you would be stunned by the level of hatred, including a death threat, I have received from fellow blacks for simply calling myself an "American."
