Actually C) It doesnt matter who said it, since your posting concluded they both DIDNT MAKE SENSE..
Thats very similar to quoting that your mother telling you not to stick your d.ck in a light socket, but in reality it was your father who said dont do it.
According to your synopsis, this then = that it must make sense to stick it in a light socket simply because you attributed the quote to the wrong person
Let me know how that works out.
He is 12...... it won't reach the light socket yet.
Nice try but the con mantra that we're a republic is usually followed by the assertion that anybody who says we're a Democracy is either stupid or a communist or whatever
Because we arent just a Democracy
AGAIN, under a Democracy, we get majority rule, we dont have majority rule.. Majority selects a REPRESENTATIVE to decide the rule of law.
If we were a Democracy, blacks might not still not be allowed to vote, since only whites would have been able to vote to determine this. ACA wouldnt be the rule of law, since the majority oppose it. The speed limit of 55 on the highway, probably never would have been the law of the land, since the public, never voted on the speed limit..
Both together don't make any sense. They can't both be true
A, We're not a democracy
B, Thomas Jefferson once said āThe democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."
And yet both of the above are standard con yapping points
Thread fail.
Jefferson never said that according to many authorities.
If Jefferson did say it, then it doesn't make sense that Democrats hold Jefferson out as their hero and founder of their Party, only to totally disrespect everything he said and does.
It was Alexis de Tocqueville that said, "The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money."
But don't let the facts get in the way of your bigotry and closed minded pontificating.
Why are we now doing threads based on false quotes? This one is even worse in that it would be quite contrary to the mans thoughts.

Sensibly...
Mircea
Jefferson, was a Democratic(not democrat)-Republican
And yet that still doesn't change the fact that we're a republic. Actually a constitutional republic with democratic elements to be exact.
Anytime any liberal. or anybody other than a conservative, refers to America as a "democracy" the righties all attack, accusing them of not understanding basic civics, and babbling about Benjamin Franklin and 2 wolves and a lamb deciding what to have for lunch

How does some conservative calling the form of government we have a Representative Republic, and not a Democracy, change the facts which is that we're a Representative Republic, which is a FORM of Democracy.
The difference of course being a Democracy is for the majority, a Representative Republic is for the minority.

No it wasn't. Tocqueville never said that
