We don't put people in prison to "rehabilitate" them or to punish them, really. We lock them up in order to protect society from them. Or we did at one time, today we just turn the dangerous ones lose again.

yes, indeed, and Prisoners, have had many violations, not just one....oh, there are a few that get caught in a once and done scenerio, but the majority of prisoners have gotten into trouble ever since they were kids...and each time they commit a crime, it gets worse and worse. They are a menace to society....
