Why can't all the aged Conservatives I know be happy after living thru the most lucrative era of human history? Now all they can talk about is their tax rates and about poor people getting assistance and that the country sucks now. All of it self-serving.

Liberals are deeply angry people who are disappointed with their personal lives, so they need to attach themselves to some type of cause to boost their self worth. If no such cause exists, they create it out of thin air. Why do you think these people are always anti-business, anti-free market, anti-success? It's because they spent 12 years chasing a master's degree in underwater basket weaving that amounted to nothing, so they want to punish everyone who had the foresight to study something valuable and work for it.

Your basic assumption is wrong. They don't want to be happy, they want to be outraged, they want to be marching, they want to be silencing the opposition. And even when they achieve all their 'goals' they aren't happy because most of them are behind barbed wire in the gulag and the pretend to be leftist ruling elite who don't give a hoot about all the lefty dupes who put them in power are dining of champagne and caviar and picking out their underage bed partner for the night. Happens over and over again but the dupes never get the message.
