There's certainly something wrong in how a
lot of Washington elites ignore obvious reality when it is inconvenient to them, how they ruthlessly cling to and crave power over mundane citizens, how they lie to the same even when they know the lie will be harmful, and how charm is inordinately important to them. These are psychopathic traits, and Carson is right to point this out; it's safe to say there is something wrong with most DC elites, including Obama, but there's not enough to go on to say Obama is actually psychopathic as opposed to just having a few screws loose that happen to aid him climbing to power. Harry Reid's behavior, on the other hand, presents a much stronger case for psychopathy.
Also notice the lengths the media goes to to justify the legitimacy and goodness of Obama and Obamacare when it was completely fraudulent and inflicted gratuitous harm on the American public, i.e. harm that was not necessary to get other people health insurance. Doing that and then defending it, and then having largely failed in doing so going to great lengths to get the public to forget it -
that is certainly psychopathic behavior. It is certainly not unreasonable to think that only psychopaths would create such a program as Obamacare. Notice that there are three things the press and the DC establishment will defend at all costs: Obama's legitimacy, Obamacare, and PRISM. Think about that and then think about how those three service the interests of
the deep state -
there is where the rabbit hole goes.
The deep state, and more generally the state we have today, is certainly the sort of organization that would both attract and encourage psychopaths, so I'm sure the rate of psychopathy is much higher in government than elsewhere, and is likely exceptionally high in the deep state. However, I don't think that's the primary driver of this phenomenon, just an unfortunate side effect.

What makes Jeb so sane? Him hiring the same set of advisors that helped ruin his brother's Presidency and killed America's freedom, economy, and fiscal footing while pushing the same policies, just like Obama has done in expanding Bush's policies? Is that what you call sane? If you do then I'd suspect you of being insane
. Of course, the entire American political establishment is insane, since they will secure at all cost a government that maintains and expands George W. Bush's policies; obviously there's a connection to the police state and warfare state of torturers* that George W. Bush erected after 9/11. Calling that sane would in a free, democratic, and honorable country, consign one to the fringe; the fact that that America's elites do so is a stain upon America and American history.
*Who, by the way, haven't even been charged, let alone prosecuted to the limit of the law like a country committed to freedom and decency (to say nothing of international law) would, just like America did in Nuremberg and Norway did in
their purge. That limit was set in 1996 and happens to be the death penalty for anyone who tortured that resulted in the death of a prisoner, along with who ordered the torture, and who in a position of authority knew about the torture and failed to stop it. By now that would make a pretty high death toll, but if there's some objection to execution life imprisonment would suffice.
