It has nothing to do with "advocating" anything. There is no use in discussing anything with someone who does this to demonize those who acknowledge for good or bad that the Constitution protects hateful speech.
Christianity is so ancient and archaic, and has so many internal inconsistencies, that no reasonable person could abide by it literally.
Why is this a slam on Christianity? Islam and the Orthodox Jewish Movement also prohibit same-sex marriage. Remember the Muslim-owned bakery in Dearborn, MI that also declined to bake a wedding cake for a same-sex marriage? Where's the uproar? Have they been drummed out of business? Are they receiving hate email and death threats?
