So you don't know what western meddling in the Middle East has meant?
For starters:
-The Ottoman partition post-WWI, dividing one of the world's largest empires into French and British Mandates covering virtually the entire region.
-Colonial administrations attempts to suppress independence movements.
-European powers dragging the Middle East into WWII as a theater of operations (British invasion of Iraq, allied invasion of Syria-Lebanon, allied-Soviet invasion of Iran, German invasion of Libya and Egypt).
-Partition of Palestine
-Suez crisis
-Overthrow of Mossadegh in Iran
-Attempts to isolate Nasser and limit pan-Arabism--particularly by strengthening Saudi Arabia
-Direct and indirect military aid to influence the balance of power
-Support for governments and armed rebels/militants in a variety of armed conflicts, from Iran-Iraq War to Kurdish rebellions to the First Gulf War to Lebanese Civil War, etc.
-Direct military intervention (Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, First Gulf War, US Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, etc.)
-Bombings in Yemen, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Libya, Iraq, and Syria.
-Support for dictatorial suppression of popular movements across the region
Oh, and your understanding of Islamic theology is incredible in its myopia and absence of critical thought.

Islamic Terror would be less directed at the west (and Russia) there is a solid pattern Bad but Secular Dictator--> Dictator oppresses Muslim religion--> US supports dictator b/c he is opposed to soviets--> Because US props up said dictator oppressed people blame US/West--> Islamists attack USA/West as if they are the oppressive dictator
Of course the Russians have the same problems with the havoc they caused in the Middle East during the Cold War
Without our meddling it would be less focused of the US/Europe but maintain it's intensity.
It would only maintain it's intensity if the Arab world remained poor and uneducated.
