What is the peaceful solution you talk about?

The Palestinians have taken peace of the table by aligning themselves with Hamas.
Nothing has changed in the last 30 years, Israel continues to build settlements and state they are interested in a two state solution. Pick any president in the last several decades and see their response to Israel but as far as the GOP is concerned they can do no wrong.

Just imagine if the democrats invited an Israeli leader behind Regan or George H's back or sent a letter trying to circumvent peace negotiations.

A two state solution was offered at least 3 separate times in the past and was turned down each time. It even included the West Bank and Gaza being given to them. They just had to recognize Israel right to exist and get rid of Hamas in Gaza. Bush Sr threaten Israel by saying he wanted to delay load guarantees in 91' if settlement expansion wasn't frozen. Israel said sure in July 1992' but in reality the settlement expansion didn't freeze because it continued to expand from 1992' to 1996'.

Today you couldn't even threaten Israel with withholding or reducing loan guarantees as been reported in the news lately because Israel hasn't even touched the 3.8 Billion in guarantees it has available ever since 2004.

Lightbulb GOP to the right of Reagan on Israel

Ah, yes...

The Reagan meme, so popular among the rabid right these days.

Not at all hard to see why, though.

Even though he left office 26 years ago, and then died 11 years ago, he's the last popular GOP president. The two since have almost identical records: middle east wars that created more problems than they solved and badly trashed economies.

Here's the best part: the GOP is now wanting to send up another member of that same clan for the presidency.

Any questions?

When they're to the right of Reagan, you know things are lopsided.

The Arabs absolutely DID NOT start the Six Day War. You're right on the other wars, but not that one.

That one goes to Israel and Israel alone. They saw a map, realized that Egypt was weak, and figured that they could grow Israel by 300 percent and if forced to give the land back, they could use the land as a carrot to extract peace treaties with their enemies.
Who invaded who?

Case closed.

Lol...you'd better open a book.

Seriously. Because if you're talking about the Six Day War, you're talking out of a rear body orifice.

For the Six Day War it was a mixed bag. if we take out all the cross border rhetoric, then physically Israel did cross into Egypt first. So for Egypt you are correct and it would've been called the Israel-Egypt War. But for Syria and Jordan it is not, as they crossed into Israel first with backup soldiers from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Iraq. This was actuality three wars and not one.

I would go even further on that and say Egypt provoked the war especially when they were amassing troops to Israel border on May 15. Some other things like Egypt ordered the UN Emergency Force (UNEF), stationed in the Sinai to withdraw on May 16. Then on May 22, Egypt closed the Straits of Tiran to all Israeli shipping and all ships bound for Eilat. One could consider just those very things an act of war. President Johnson did call the blockage illegal and later acknowledged the closure of the Strait of Tiran was the casus belli.

So if the GOP & Israel are successful in undermining the negotiations which are very tentative at this point, what then. Iran, the US or both could back out then what.

Something you may not have thought of is that China, Russia and Germany want to trade with Iran, so the US unilaterally imposes sanctions and Iran get's what it wants and there is always the black market.
