Perhaps. But in this case, Martin was a street fighter, drug user, and possibly a thief (not proven but suspected). In any case, he was not the "nice innocent young man" that many tried to portray him to be. He had a reputation for fighting and drug use. He attacked Zimmerman. Zimmerman acted in self defense and was found NOT GUILTY. End of story. Get over it.

TM never got into a fight.
TM had no violent tendencies.
Trace amount of THC found his drug use was with weed. Weed doesn't make one aggressive, unless you already have some form of mental condition.
Now on the other hand you got GZ who had medications in him that caused aggression, as if he needed to be any more aggressive than he already is. Other side effects were anger and rage coupled with his poor self/impulse control, he was on a recipe for disaster.
More importantly, if Obama/Holder & Co could not pin a DOJ case against him (which everyone knows they were itching to do), that exonerates Zimmerman more than ever.
The DOJ was only looking into whether it was or was not a hate crime, not the guilt or innocence of zimmerman.

Do you think a doctor who directly examined Zimmerman or a doctor who looked at photos would provide a better report?
In one message, Mr. Martin described himself as “gangsta.” Other text messages refer to his involvement in fights and reveal an interest in guns, including an exchange about possibly buying one, referring to it as a .380.

The doctor spoke of what GZ gave as his injuries. She referred him to an ENT specialist for further follow up. There was nothing to prove that GZ had a broken nose, just his words to the doctor. GZ never submitted a medical report that states his nose was broken.
No sutures on a head that has been repeatedly beaten into the concrete means to me, GZ was not badly hurt. It was a lie then and it's a lie now.
Yes, and a unicorn might have flown by and kicked Zimmerman in the back of the head while showering the area with skittles.
If you look at the red ? on the back of GZ's noggin, seems to fit perfectly with his weapon, as does the part of the gun where you pull the trigger, not a weapons person so I don't know the correct terminology for the gun parts. All GZ had to do was show his alleged self inflicted injuries to get that jury of mothers on his side and he did.
They took his words as gospel truth when right out of the start when he said TM jumped out of the bushes to assault him. No bushes around, so everything he stated after that should have been scrutinized with a fine toothed comb for truth. GZ doesn't have truth in him.
