CA is a favorite spot, as in state tuition for UC schools for their future US citizen is cheaper .

The good news part of that is that it tends to be the wealthier Chinese. Bringing more of our money back home lol.

In state tuition is based on where you went to high school not on where you were born.

And there is no certainty what exists today will be, in 18 years.

We need more Tiger Mothers.

I've seen SO MANY pregnant Asian ladies (Chinese mostly) walking in the malls, in orange country (especially Irvine area), riverside county, etc.

I read it on the internet somewhere (I think it maybe true), says , they are coached to claim they are "indigent" when they check into the hospital to deliver their babies. This means they avoid having to pay a single dime for the cost of the delivery and follow-up care, which can be very substantial .

No matter how "liberal" you are, I cannot see anybody support this.

"We"? These mothers are Chinese women who have no intention of becoming American. They only want to take advantage of America's absurd birthright citizenship law and game the system to the benefit of their Chinese families.

I've never liked the anchor baby thing, but it's a big ass hole in our constitutional law. The Founders had vision, but they could only see so far.

But as long as the kids grow up to be productive, I can live with it.

Of course they don't pay, it is already mentioned in the article

Records obtained by the agency show the couple found to be "credible tourists" paid only $4,080 of a $28,845.29 medical bill from the California hospital where their child was born. The expectant Chinese mother told the hospital that she was unemployed -- though she had listed a job on her original visa application.

Wrong.

There are many ways to game these requirements if you have an anchor baby born in CA.

I'd rather the parents pay for their own birth. Why should Americans pay for another countries child, while the child claims their a US citizen who can vote!
