You know what's funny in this thread and the other ones like it? People seem to think that, because this family has raked in so much money in this fundraiser, this proves that they they "win", that this is proof that they, conservative Christians, are right and all the "liberal fascists" are wrong.
Yes, this family is better off financially, but what about Indiana? The damage has already been done there and the state has already lost money, never mind goodwill and reputation.
The fact that public pressure and scrutiny forced the governor to make changes to the law is proof of the opposite argument, that the public, as a whole, is against using religion as an excuse to discriminate. Under the new law, what the pizzeria owners said wouldn't be condoned or allowed. These people getting all this money via GoFundMe =/=using religion to discriminate against gays is okay and validated. In fact, the opposite has been proven true overall.
Like I said, what happened to them overall was kind of gross and a sad display of humanity, but people are focusing on that and not realizing that, through peaceful protest, the law was changed and justice served. The public spoke up and the governor was forced to listen and act. This family can celebrate their money; America (including many in IN itself) is celebrating the change in the right direction that was made.
I truly believe that people like these pizzeria owners and others of their ilk are on the wrong side of history and that line between the right side and wrong side of history is quickly becoming more visible. 10-15 years from now, this law and this whole situation may become a horrible reminder of how dumb America was and Memories Pizza will just be a sad memory of a bigoted past.
Ever notice how the faithful take care of others? No bullying. No death threats.... unlike the gay mafia. Every dollar donated is a statement in support of religious freedom!
You must have been absent when they covered The Crusades in history class.
Or was that example too long ago for you? What were you doing on September 11, 2001?
Up to 100k as opposed to the bigots who are well over 800k.
Yup, it's official. The haters of the world have 8xs the monetary power than the caring do. No wonder so many politicians lean this way (or probably more accurately, pander to this base) regardless of the popular votes.

This sounds like you're making a blanket statement that lumps all Christians together. Did you bother to look at the gofund website? The number of contributors is a little over 29,000. That's a small percentage of the U.S. population and probably even less than those who claim Christianity as their faith.
The other conservative owned businesses are probably kicking themselves that they didn't think of it first!
Oh they sort of did. I remember all the "bring in a bible and get 10% off" or "discounts for open carry" stuff. This just went a step beyond. I don't know which is worse, claiming you won't do something you were never asked to do to make yourself look good, the real and fake protesters going apeshyt, or the people donating because they think this is somehow an American Religious Fight For Freedom.
Lets not forget who started the public fiasco. People who were trying to create a problem and then when they couldn't really find one, fabricated one.
As to the money, how about the Salesforce employee getting 50K to move out of Indiana?
Quite a bit of money just to move and based on nothing more than someone saying they don't feel "comfortable" living in Indiana.
Not a word about that. No proof of discrimination, nothing. Just don't feel comfortable. CEO makes a public statement that hits the major news broadcasts and boasts about giving the 50k.

Exactly!
I really thought that these People that fought Against Civil rights were dead or dying. From some of the responses in this thread, it looks like they are still alive and well in 2015.
Hey!
Why don't we install a "colored only" water fountain.
