Work centers (we are no longer industrials) are often located in areas with easy access. People today do not want to (generally) to walk to work. They do not want to be that close to their employer.

Therefore, and IMO, it is a non issue

People will live where they want to. Will drive as much as they want to.

People who see only freedoms and none of the responsibilities that come with them are always trouble...

In the context of this thread - are you then suggesting that people should not have the freedoms to live wherever they wish? To drive how much they wish?

I am of course, a firm believer that with freedom comes responsibility. No "rugged individualist" would deny that basic, foundational truth.

But to take your comment in the context of jtur88's point (choosing where we live) it comes off sounding like our "responsibility" is to only live close to work, only ride bicycles or mass transit, and/or walk places instead of driving our eeee-vil nasty automobiles!

Half the posts in P&OC are by self-proclaimed sovereigns refusing to accept any responsibility at all.

Your responsibility is to realize that your selfish actions have implications for others. The freedom to live where you want and how you can may include various options that would be most responsibly foregone.

Are you familiar with the way in which two bots running the same program would work?

Depends on how you intend to exercise this freedom of yours. In general, any act that elevates the interests or preferences of self while dismissing or denigrating the legitimate interests of others is selfish...

Yes, if they are immature and act like spoiled children, and there is no nanny to make them mind.
