I posted this elsewhere, but, people who make $25,000 a year are taxed around $4,000 (maybe off a few).
People who make $400,000 a year pay $140,000 in taxes.

Can anyone explain how to how that's "fair"?

I also learn from everyone and not just my teachers or college professors.
I also don't need to be financially rich to get myself an education or to learn from experience.
Ahhh! That explains it!

So the wealthy man is on welfare? Because your wealthy man used those words...he reaps where he has not sown.

He sits back and collects a check based on OTHER people's work.

Usually when people talk about the trickle-down theory, it has to do with economics. The richer people at the top of a society become, supposedly, the more wealth there is to trickle down to the people below. It never really works out that way, of course, because if there are 2 things people at the top can't stand, they have to be leakage and overflow.

I'm glad we have rich people because they build new buildings, employing those in the steel industries, BMW and exotic car companies, yacht builders, high priced tvs etc.

Imagine if no one could afford HDTV's, or even DVD players.. without the rich splurging on this technology, it would not have become affordable for the rest of is.. Oooh those rude greedy rich people!!
I don't want or need HDTV or DVD players....

That wasn't a reference to a real rate structure...it was to the rate structure in <Briolat21>'s proposal...

It's amusing that you think people who are successful sit back and let everyone else do the work while they sip on cocktails and collect the benefits. In most cases they busted their asses to get where they are and invested their time and money wisely.

Now the people who sit on their asses and collect a welfare check based upon my work... those are the ones reaping benefits from MY work.

It's not mine...so if I didn't have it...I've survived for more than 30 years without one.

And why would I want to WATCH TV? I don't own a TV either. It's better to READ...books provided by the PUBLIC LIBRARY system.
