Are Americans such juveniles that every little special group has to go to a bakery and order a cake that was clearly for political and media exposure purposes? Is this what America has degenerated into? Immature mobs that have to vent their pent up wing nut rage on the neighborhood baker?

Ask a little small town mom and pop bakery if they'll bake a cake for a couple of gay guys + post their caught-off-guard answer on social media + get it picked up by special interest bloggers looking for hits on their site + get the story picked up by lazy leftist media outlets looking for an easy sure-fire way to get hits on their own site so they can charge more for ads + a divisive administration + special interest groups who smell weakness at the highest levels + disaffected youth raised to think that everyone gets a trophy and where's THEIRS = One of many example of American citizens focusing energy on BS instead of all of the important domestic and international issues that deeply impact all of us, and the ineffectiveness, laziness and corruption of legislators who are supposed to be working for all of us, but who actually are................not.
There will be another shiny object placed in front of us within the next week, and then we can all move on and get upset about that one.
Since I'm not a juvenile it's really painful for me to watch. I'm get secondhand embarrassment when I hear about people who do things and believe they are being clever.

The purpose of same-sex marriage is harness the power of the state for the purpose of forcing people to accept homosexuality, and this, if not through thoughts, then at least through deeds.
Allowing open dissent, religious or otherwise, nullifies the argument of the same-sex proponents that heterosexuality and homosexuality differ in no practical aspects such that one should be treated differently from the other or that a distinction between the two should even be made.
This lie of the same-sex advocates, because it is a lie, cannot coexist with reasoned and open opposition to it, so the bakers, florists and photographers who refuse to service same-sex weddings must be attacked and destroyed.

Its a way to "call out" the gays while pretending that they wouldn't serve anyone they thought was "sinning". Meanwhile, every sinner known to man walks thru their doors and gets served no problem. These bakeries and pizza places who are in the news these days.....other than specifically targeting the gays, what other "sinners" have they refused to serve? I don't remember hearing about them in the news targeting other "sinners".

It's not about sin. It's about sex. People with sexual insecurities do not want to be reminded about sex - any kind of sex. Hell, I've seen people complain about sexy billboards. We have legal brothels here, and when the Mustang Ranch bought advertising space on the roofs of taxicabs, many residents complained. It's always claimed to be about "the children." It's not. It's about them. Puritanism is alive and well in the USA.
I don't like cake. I prefer pie. Yum, yum, pie. Won't find no gay guys eatin' pie.
mmmmm pie make mine one of two pies, either a smooth chocolate silk pie, or a spicy crawfish pie.

it goes further than that, it is also a means to destroy marriage completely.

the only thing these business owners are doing is not serving gay weddings. otherwise these business owners serve gays for everything else. take for instance a flower shop that was in the news a little while back. the owners had sold flowers to a gay couple for nine years. even to the point of making friends with this couple. when gay marriage became legal in their state, the gay couple asked if the flower shop owner would supply flower for the wedding. the flower shop owner respectfully declined on religious grounds, and consequently got sued.
its not about discrimination against all gays, its about business owners that have deeply held beliefs that gay marriage is wrong, and goes against what the owners believe. on the other side its about the gays wanting to force people to accept their lifestyle as completely normal.

In a word, yes. It be that way. But it is hardly a matter limited to bakeries.
Both the Right and the Left have played up and created such an hysterical atmosphere of mass oppression of this or that religious, political, ethnic, racial or gender group that the country has become a mud fight at every turn.
Whether it's Christians in Louisiana leaning on a Buddhist schoolboy or gay groups leaning on small businesses it is all part of the same politically motivated divisive strife that has been going on for more than thirty years. And like a snowball rolling down a hill, it has simply gotten bigger and bigger and, thus, more visible.
Unfortunately human beings seem to get a virtually pornographic thrill when self-righteously pounding on people who do not share their beliefs. And for the past thirty years this fact has been at the core of politicking in the U.S. - Left and Right it is a seamless garment of hating and despising.

Spot on and confirmed by a society that has shown more public outrage over a bare nipple at the Super Bowl than over unnecessary, bloody, wasteful wars of choice.
