The cop was an unusually good shot. Typically we read of where 4 cops fired 60 shots at an unarmed person and maybe 5 of them hit their mark. Maybe when they are committing cold blooded murder they are steadier than when they fear for their safety.

Are these aholes capable of any other way of tracking someone down other than shooting them? You had the damn car right there, run the fricken plates. Get the dude at another time. WTF!

The people asking, "why did he run", did you NOT read the damn story?

That is still not a reason to kill someone.

First, the frustration in your tone is justified. second your last comment That is not a reason to kill someone is right. This officer shot this poor guy in the back, let him die, and then planted evidence. go to jail for life sucker.

but (and I know this is raw to be saying like this) your first points "stopped for a broken tail light, not a reason to die....

that mentality is going to get more black men killed. some justified and some not. why? because it causes a level of indignation (justified) that leads to action where police officers are confronted by those frustrated black men.

He made it look easy, like he was taking out the trash, or something.

I noticed that too. The cop's stance, the man running away, the excellent filmography, and the carefully planted gun made it seem staged almost. Like a clip from a corrupt white cop movie. Weird.

They give interviews yet they seem to repeatedly miss racist leanings, seems this would be important to screen against.

Many police officers say that, "We don't shoot to maim. If there is a threat that requires lethal force, we shoot to kill."

Many receive this type of training,

“Lower your weapons and quickly scan your environment. When it is clear, holster your weapon. Now let’s move downrange and look at your shot placement. People, I want you to remember — we don’t shoot to kill... we shoot to stop!”

http://www.policeone.com/use-of-forc...ll-or-to-stop/

To me, the problem is not "train to kill" or "train to stop" The problem is "threat."

Does "threat" have a clear definition, or the word "threat" depends on individual police officer's personal judgment?

Because stopping and killing are different things, is it not dangerous to tip-toe around this issue in what seems to be a perpetual state of denial? When we use deadly force, should it be surprising to anyone that one likely outcome is death?

It's easier when you are not under threat, not under attack or in fear for your life, and can plant your feet and take your time with no distractions, and shoot like you are in shooting range.

As for "all lives matter" that does include black lives, so you go on being all offended over that, I don't really care what you think.
So you are arguing to treat the symptom, rather than the cause of the disease. That gets you know where. If you do not deal with the actual problem then will get no where.

And this isnt about being offended, You arent naive, you know there is a segment of the population that uses that phrase to mock people.

But, if a cop fears for its life . . .

Fear has electrolytes.
