The Israeli gov't gets "0" dollars from the US related to this. All funding to Israel is Military only.

Why don't you go through the USAID website and see which countries do get economic and other types of aid.
Sooooo if a foreign country funded 100 billion of our year in military expenses, and we increased our abortion fund for example by 100 billion, you wouldn't see the correlation?

I've seen cities play this math game too, increase spending on X, decrease it on Y, and then ask for extra funding to pay for Y.

The point is that people are all for helping fund Israel, while ignoring that Israel funds those sorts of things with the savings.

I do see your point I really really do but here is a moral question. Let us pretend for a moment a hypothecal situation, a pregnant woman is denied an abortion, her unwanted baby was born instead of aborted and went on to grow up unloved and abused .This hypothetical child grew up to be an adult criminal that was cruel and dangerous, not only due to a bad childhood but because he was just not a nice human being. This hypothetical person went on to commit murders and other serious crimes his entire life. Are you still glad he was not aborted?

That is the question I wrestle with when it comes to abortion.

If you know of someone who is murdering children I urge you to call the police immediately.

That's you're problem, not anyone else's.

Just apply some common sense when we're dealing with public good. I have no major issue with universal healthcare, it's just hard to provide a service like that for 320 million people (which is why I find comparisons to European countries who DO have universal healthcare but for populations that are a fraction of the US population rather amusing). But if it works and is sustainable, fund away. But medical care that is not absolutely necessary should be between you and those you pay, not you and everyone else. Things like cosmetic surgery should not be at the expense of the public. Emergencies like appendicitis however can be covered in a universal healthcare system.

Now, to get a system started, we'd have to prioritize a bit. Certain necessary procedures may not be covered if they are not as pressing. It's a tricky issue.

As for religious views... religion is a personal endeavor. No one should be forced to do wrong according to their religion but we can't base our laws around that.
If they can't afford the child it is everyone else's problem since we are the ones who are going to have to pay to support it.

Well would you guys/girls rather pay welfare for 18 years of his life? Or have him grow up in dire circumstances and turn to drugs, gangs, and other types of criminality just to survive and have another lost youth and poor mother to point the finger at to temporarily brighten your useless lives? Or have him unloved, abandoned, or abused by his parents? Or does your pro-life preening stop after the baby is out of the womb?

Well duh. Once they are out of the womb they aren't their concern anymore. If they were we'd have people arguing for a basic income. Its only those atheist socialists that care about others like that.

The whole use a wrong to justify another wrong argument.
I'd rather we stop subsidizing everyones children and incentivizing single parent households, but personal responsibilty is such a foreign concept to so many.

This nation uses tax dollars to kill children all the time. The military and our politicians call it collateral damage.
