Not in our lifetime. Race is something perpetuated by those that want to be different. For example, black people seem to want to be separate from all others, therefore they will always be viewed as "black" or "African American". Many people in the US are from countless other countries, but they don't separate themselves in that way. Jews are another group that want separation, as the "chosen people". That being said, they will ALWAY have groups that don't like them. People in general don't like groups that separate from just being "human". African Americans in my opinion are just Americans period. So called white people vary in color to a very great extent, but we are all lumped together. Some Indian (dots) are darker than many so-called black people. The whole thing is silly, but don't try and separate yourselves and THEN you will have no racism. It is as simple as that, but it will take a couple generations.

Never. People need to just learn to roll with the punches. Life is too short to be constantly stressed out about who hates you.

Racism doesn't even mean what it used to mean. The word seems to be most commonly used now as a diversionary tactic when confronted with bad behavior and poor choices.

my response wasn't to say that there isn't some equality for minorities.

yes, there are minorities in government, and in corporate world..
but to assume that the USA isn't still a vastly white power nation and defined as such in the international arena is like saying china isn't chinese cos there's two fukian region politicians in the govt.

Racism is just an advanced form of "Tribalism". How long has tribalism been around? Since recorded history at least.

The only way for racism to end (and this is my only solution) is for everyone to be blind.

That's always been my thought. You can legislate good overt public behavior, but new laws rarely if ever actually change peoples feelings and all of us humans can be masters of circumventing rules/laws governing social behavior if we really wish to.

Things probably won't change much until people are allowed to be honest with their feelings.....good, bad, justified or unjustified. You can't debate and possible resolve anything until both sides are allowed to voice their honest feelings without the PC crowd descending on them for their feelings.....how dare you say that !

Even in countries that are predominantly one race, there are still ethnic/class issues similar to racism. So it never ends. People are designed to compete.
