I do see a strong moral difference between a historically persecuted minority preaching group pride and a member of the dominant group. Most people that preach white pride are ignorant racists.
There's a difference between fighting for one's rights and creating an 'us vs them' mentality. The latter is generally the most common across the board.
I always wonder if multiculturalism with mass immigration would backfire.
It's already happening. Letting in people of different "races" but with SIMILAR cultures to our kind is 1 thing; letting in ignorant peasants of any skin color, especially illegally, is something else again and people are getting real pissed over it.
If European's are belatedly discovering some ethnic, racial and nationalistic pride
Belatedly? I can few other continents that have be engulfed in the most nightmarish conflict for as long and as brutally as Europe has due to ethnic, "racial" and nationalistic pride.
Not at all. People who disagree with them politically will denigrate these groups but for the most part, you're talking about relatively moderate movements that want to largely maintain the status quo, groups that want the EU to stop dictating how their countries are run and want more balanced and controlled immigration.
The EU issue is a major one as the EU has gotten their claws into everything. In Poland for example, there are groups up in arms over quota's for dairy and other products that are really limiting the economy in some ways. As I said before, the one thing all these groups have in common is that they are tired of EU interference into the affairs of their nations and are building upon discontent to push an anti-EU agenda.
Hmmm.............one of the same problems we're having.
Not really.
Europe is getting immigration from very different places, primarily the Middle East. Europe, particularly western Europe, and the Middle East have a lot of noticeable cultural differences that can create tension. Europe's immigration problem is actually a problem.
The US immigration problem comes down to disorganization. It's hardly the people, who are predominately Hispanic.
Hispanic culture is not different enough from typical 'American' culture to cause any real problems. Both America and Latin America get their roots from Europe. US and Canada had the most influences from England and France, while Latin America got Spain and Portugal. There are differences, but the differences aren't massively obvious.
