So? Newspapers and cable news channels have political slants and hire writers/anchors who hold their views. I don't expect Fox to hire Jon Stewart or Rachel Maddow.
Robinson was a conservative writer at liberal paper and took a leave of absence to campaign for Tricky Dicky. When you leave a paper you can't expect them to save your column space for you.

So, you think the sun sets in the east? Think again.

Please, roadking. He said nothing of the sort. Furthermore, what on earth does race have to do with this? Doesn't make a bit if sense, rk. Not even a good effort.

Let's go back to the history books and read about the differences between the parties in 1960s and today. Republicans were more liberal than Democrats in 1960.

Stop embarrassing yourself.

I was not aware of this, so thanks for the history OP. This sort of thing was not uncommon in the early 60's. Sammy Davis Jr. wanted to help JFK with campaigning but was ejected because he had a white wife. JFK had to reckon with the Southern segregationist Democrats who were still a force then. Sammy offered his support to Nixon, who welcomed him.
