Why should he be forced to discuss something that he had no control over that happened a hundred years before he was even a thought let alone a twinkle in someone's eye?
There is no discussion to be had, he is not responsible for what his ancestor's chose and he should not have to explain nor defend any of it.
Special snowflake doesn't want to pay those reparations liberals love to insist on, he just wants everyone else to pay it with his white guilt .
Affleck should have just manned up and dealt with it as a fact. Nothing to hide from and nothing to apologize for. Hollywood loves to dish it out, but very thin skinned when it comes back to hit them right in the face.
I bet a lot of people have slave owners in their family if their ancestors are from the South. The celebrities who are on this show have a problem if they want to hide that.
Ben Affleck is a Liberal coward to try and "White wash" his ancestry and history.
No surprise there!
Too bad Gates was pressured to go along with it, if you can't show ACTUAL history it becomes fiction at a certain point.
Because it isn't an honest portrayal of who and what his ancestry is made of. And it shows a lack of credibility at PBS.
That's why!!!
Why stop there, maybe next time slavery is shown why not highlight the fact that these African " immigrants" were given "jobs" without pay , a home/shack to live in and free meals.
Yeah just ignore the rest of their reality, beatings, rape and inhumanity they went through, after all it's not PC to be historically accurate.
But you can't see how that wouldn't be credible ???

One side of my family immigrated from Germany, the other side are Cherokee.
I wonder how much land I can get back that was stolen from my Cherokee ancestors.
I don't get upset over things that cannot be changed, that I did not do and I refuse to defend myself for the actions of others.
Hence the reason I don't understand why his wanting that part taken out is an issue, he did not do it and is not responsible and honestly I don't see a reason to be upset over it.
Your friend really got upset?
He acted like it didn't bother him, but yes he was upset. Especially when he saw the coat of arms for his family actually had three crusade daggers on it.
^^ This. Descendants of his grandfather's slaves will demand reparations from him since he is worth millions.
