I first heard about this on a podcast. The discussion was about wether or not this was in appropriate or if this was just how it is on the set of shows. The lady who was speaking on this podcast, made a good point about how things change on the fly and sometimes they add stuff to the scripts the day of filming. However, she did say that if the 14 year olds were uncomfortable, they directors should have done whatever they could to make it comfortable and NOT turned it into this joke and entertainment to rile up this kids and make it more uncomfortable.

Sadie Sink's Response to the 'Stranger Things' Kiss Controversy Will Make Fans Breathe Easy - Celebrity News - Zimbio

Quote:
It is notable that TheWrap went on to ask Sink "if anyone had prepped her on what to say about the kiss," which was met with an "uncomfortable pause." Sink's publicist reportedly then responded on behalf of the actress, stating "she believed she had answered the question fully."

Still, Sink seems to be at peace with the sequence of events, and we're pleased to hear it.
