This takes the hysteria around marijuana to a whole new level. Now you can't even TALK about marijuana. When I first read this I thought it was a spoof, but it's all over the web. I guess the idiots who like to control other people's lives know no bounds for their irrational hysteria. Their deep seated low self esteem probably drives them to interfere with other's lives.
---------------------
Today Shona Banda, a Kansas medical marijuana activist, faces a hearing at which she will try to stop the state from kidnapping her 11-year-old son. She may also soon face criminal charges that could send her to prison. All because her son dared to question the anti-pot propaganda dispensed by his school.

On March 24, Banda's son spoke up during a "drug education" lesson presented by school counselors, questioning some of their statements about marijuana. Banda, whose story was first reported by The Human Solution International (THSI), a support group for medical marijuana patients, told Ben Swann her son mentioned that she calls the plant "cannabis" and "he let them know how educated he was on the facts." That small act of skepticism resulted in a trip to the principal's office and a call to Child Protective Services, which contacted the police. Banda says her son was questioned "for hours," unbeknownst to her.

Not a direct connection. Just shows how closed minded they are if you check in weekly.

Kansas politics is what happens when you have a large number of fundamentalist Christians with a lack of education fueled by a 24/7 diet of Fox News and hate radio. They lack the skills to question authority or think for themselves and the GOP hucksters like Brownback take full advantage of them. The Republicans in Kansas know that fear sells and the same people that faithfully attend church each week for some good old fire and brimstone are ripe for the picking. Give them an easy target like drugs or gays to focus their anger and blame on and you can get away with anything you want.

So much for Kansas being a "conservative" state. It looks like they're using the "it takes a village" mentality that is prevelent on the left.

Now, why in the world does an 11 year old even know these things about pot? Yup, his mom the activist. She couldn't even leave an 11 year old alone to be an 11 year old, she had to indoctrinate him early. This kid shouldn't know about any of this stuff yet at his age. Nothing wrong with CPS doing what they did, they were making sure that mom wasn't smoking pot with him or doing other illegal activities.

She should have flushed it the first time they came to the door.Right after they left to go get the search warrant and i would have went some where else for the night.

Using your silly logic, we should take all kids away from their parents so that we can be sure they are not doing anything illegal with their parents.

Your attitude is disgusting.
