Europe, and by extension the Americas, has been historically patriarchal. Women couldn't even vote until the 20th century. And America is less than 300 years old as a country. We're still trying to figure out what we want to be like as a country. Europe is a culturally diverse landscape so they were basically destined to be more progressive. America may seem diverse, but it's a totally different concept of diverse. Being white is just being white in America, but being a white German and a white French are two totally different things. And since the EU is a thing, they see a lot of that diversity.

While a white person from Texas is noticeably different than a white person from New England, they still just call themselves white.

But to keep to the topic, Europe is more progressive. American is lagging behind, but not as far as we sometimes like to think. The fact is, absence of a female president does not mean we are against a female president. I'd be pretty surprised if Hillary Clinton didn't get the Democrat nomination. At that point, her not winning does not mean sexism at all. That will come down to party politics. Sure, a minority of conservatives will not vote for her because she's a woman, but also, and probably more importantly, because she's a democrat, but the number for that is probably still less than the number of liberals who will vote for her beach she's a woman, but even then, most liberals aren't so eager to see a women president that they'd vote for a women who didn't share their progressive views.

So while we may not have had a female president, I don't think it's truly fair to say we are more sexist that the countries that have.

The Bible says a woman should not have authority over man, that might be one of the reasons.

Yes, but God-fearing American Christians have through the years become adept at picking and choosing which laws they want to follow.

Oh, I should have specified my prevoius post was sarcastically meant, since it does not come across so well online. My own country's Angela is at least better than most of the others.

So is voting for a man based on nepotism and his last name when he's 50 IQ points short of his namesake.

True about Americans.

And your "Angela" is a real piece of work. But I don't have to live under her so it's none of my business.

I don't know, why not vote on a candidate based on their policies or if you'd think they'd be competent at the job or if you'd think that they'd carry out their duties honestly?

Nope. That would be stupid. Gotta vote for genitals and skin tone like if it is a "collect the whole set".

This is why democracy is doomed.
