In light of other threads, I want to ask why is it ok to kill feral animals but not feral people? I keep hearing about how feral animals kill native wildlife and use resources that the native wildlife should be using so it is a good idea to kill them off. Why not people? Feral people such as gangbangers and other low life scum use resources that could be used by others and they cause crime and predation of other humans. Shouldn't it be morally ok to kill them off too in this context? Why just animals? What makes humans superior? The truth is we are nothing but a parasite on this planet that digs up the Earth and replaces it with man-made crap that isn't recyclable. We tear down the habitats that these animals (which were here long before us) need to survive forcing them into our backyards, then we kill them for becoming invasive? We need to do this with people as well to control our population and improve the safety and living conditions for everyone just like people say it is a must to hunt animals to keep their populations in check because WE HUMANS took away their homes and killed off their natural predators. What makes humans superior? The truth is we aren't. In fact animals are WAY more evolved and specialized than we are and most likely will ever be. We have a bigger brain, that's it and I wouldn't call it a good thing necessarily because of the evil and bad things we use it for. Humans are the real parasites on this planet not any animals.

Why? Because people aren't animals. We have a system to deal with those who break the law and prey on others. It's certainly imperfect but works well enough to keep society going.

Good topic OP! It gets at the issue of people having two sets of morals, what is ok for animals in general and what is ok for us special animals.

If it's ok to kill feral (or harmless in the case of animal meat production) animals, it should then be ok to kill feral humans. The key issue is going to be deciding what is feral.

Next question, is it easier for you to see the world through the mind of a feral human (criminal) or to see the world through the eyes of an animal, say a pig.

Ummmm, people ARE animals. You still didn't answer the question, what makes humans superior? Their brain size that enables them to use tools to kill? Put humans out there with NO tools to hunt and we'd be long gone.

I would say it's easier to see the world through the view of the pig. Life is very simple and not very complicated as humans tend to make it out to be IMO.

See how easy that was.

Feral cats are not the equal of humans. No further discussion relative to feral cats necessary

Feral cats in North America are a man made issue no different than the misnomered Norwegian rat.

As such all methods of population control of the feral cat population should be used to control it including posioning.

Really?

Ok, you can put yourself on the same level as all other critters if you choose. I'll stick to most humans being higher up in importance.

You mean, to keep society in check But its not working. When you have a serial killer like Hansen from AK,
who kills and brutalized over 17 plus young women, and spends HIS remainder 30 years in prison as a barber, before dying, SOMETHING is wrong with our system. There has to be a happy medium between Wyatt Earp of the Old West justice and the leniency we have today.

I'd say, mass murderers should get death, and as soon as possible after conviction. Or,
hang them from the highest tree.... works too.

Nothing wrong with shooting feral "humans". Once one attacks you or someone you care about, or breaks into your house you'll appreciate that fact.
