The group that became ISIS existed before the Iraq War then it became Al Qaeda in Iraq then it went into hiding in Syria and really took off when Assad decided that killing people was preferable to reforms.
While it is important to remember America's role in creating ISIS; there are other factors to take into account.

I don't know why our Gov. insists on telling us that islam is a religion of peace. it seems they have been killing each other and anyone else that doesn't subscribe to their narrow view for centuries.
Blame Bush for the War that everyone wanted after the events of Sep. 11. Blame Bush for taking out Saddam Hussein. Saddam was actually keeping the region together albeit with his heavy boot on their necks and occasionally killing his own people but do you think he would have put up with isis?
