The first clue is that the multitudes of left wing bloggers, posters, and trolls have taken to referring to Ted Cruz as "Rafael." He has self-ID'ed as Ted for years, and I learned at an early age that one way to show respect towards others is to call them by the name they prefer. When a new employee comes on board where I work, I always ask them what they 'go by.'
The only reason I can guess at for this phenomenon is that it is supposed to underscore his Hispanic heritage, It would seem that the last name of 'Cruz' would be a tipoff that Ted Cruz is Hispanic, but who knows what goes on inside he brain of a liberal....
He is clearly a serious person and serious candidate for 2016, yet he is getting great grief from the left. Is it due to his ethnicity? Are they that violently opposed to a first Hispanic President? I don't really know, but no other theory seems to fit the facts.

IMHO Mr Cruz is NOT a "Hispanic" but I catch what you mean.
The Dems want the first Hispanic president to be one of there own. They attack the man because they are afraid that he may win. There fears are justified.

Most of the news stories or opinion pieces I've seen referring to "Rafael" Cruz are regarding his father named----Rafael Cruz.
Can you provide examples of where you're seeing the younger Ted Cruz being referred to as "Rafael"?
Marco Rubio is polling higher right now; there's another Hispanic target for them. How DARE they leave the Dem plantation!
Mitt Romney did run as a Repub and so did his dad, George, even tho the older man was born IN Mexico. George's US citizen mom and dad were legal aliens in Mexico but their son DID run into anti Hispanic prejudice in LA when the family moved there in about 1910.

And the only thing remotely referenced to Romneys origins that was memorable was the horrific fake tan he got once. So no, this isn't ant-hispanic anything. This thread is full of fail.
Funny thread. The first way to judge is to see how many Hispanic votes Cruz gets. If even Hispanics are laughing at what he's selling, the question is moot.

How many Republicans have used Sotero in reference to Obama? How many times have Republicans made reference to a Obama's Kenyan father that he barely met? How many times have Republicans made reference to Obama going to a school in Indonesia when he was only there 3-4 years and back in Hawaii at 10 years old? How political were you at 10?
As for Cruz' education, he was educated at Harvard but so was Obama. Republicans have discounted a Harvard education as meaningless so that gives him no cache'. Republicans also support Scott Walker who has no college degree. This in spite of the fact that virtually every government job from secretary to military officer requires one. If Republicans place no value on a college education, which clearly they don't, talking about Cruz' college education is a waste of your breath.

I think it is the same as how Obama "goes by" Hussein. But you're smart enough to know that.
