Well you said you've read Fryer, and while I agree that Fryer doesn't "blame" discrimination it would be bit sophistic to argue, as Fryer does not, that discrimination and the history of racism has played a very large roll whether he states it that way or not.

Also, Fryer has been all over "left" wing news and entertainment programs from NPR to Steve Colbert so you might want to rethink that as well.

Yeah, he's more of a moderate on race relations. However, his research evolves around blacks mostly having themselves to blame for racial disparity in the country. Basically, if you go to school and acquire marketable skills, the wage gap will completely close. That's his premise.
