it wasn't until the next day when people started complaining that they realized it could have been taken the wrong way.

now i feel icky
It's really a shame because Fox news is the last man standing for somewhat honest journalism. This is a blatant mischaracterization of the news on par with MSNBC. I'm thinking of writing them a letter.

you mean to say some black citizens attempting to clean up the damage caused by violent looters who happened to be blacks.....I didn't see whites, asians or latinos destroying the city in the news, they were all blacks.

blacks are the ONLY minority in the U.S. that does this to their own communities. Asians, Latinos and any other minority doesn't do this to their own communities and economy.

and then they wonder why they are at the bottom of the economy spectrum in society and then blame "whitey" why their communities are poor and no one wants to invest.

Okay. Let's assume for a moment that she was , indeed, searching for the right words to use and spewed this out by mistake. How about not saying anything? Sometimes less is more. Why say something that could possibly be taken out of context? Don't hint at things. Be crystal clear in your message.

She screwed up. Instead of playing the mischaracterization card, just own it and fix the problem.

Better yet, instead of having press conferences, be doing something to take care of the problem and protect those who are now in harm's way. With all of the media coverage there is little reason to appear for a press conference. Issue a press release instead. Yeah, yeah. The people need to see their leader. I'd prefer to see a leader leading rather than standing in front of a camera. Send the city attorney or someone else.

another defender......

No, why in the world would she even imagine using the word..........."destroy"?

Why should destroy be considered a normal part of protesting?

I guess to a liberal black with a hyphenated surname it would.

I don't think she wants anyone to destroy property. I don't think anyone other than the looters and rioters want that. I don't see this a left or right issue. It's just a stupid statement that came back to bite her in the tail.
